CHARMAINE STEPHENS

Hard working, talented, smart and beautiful as well. Charmaine Stephens was born on May 21, 1987 in Sun Valley, California. Most people search their entire lives looking for their purpose. Charmaine knew at the tender age of 5. She began writing songs at 10 years old. Charmaine already had the natural ambition and talent; her uncle is an esteemed drummer that played for various artists on Motown Records such as The Supremes & The Temptations. And her great grandparents were songwriters/singers as well. Charmaine was also inspired from her early childhood days to be an entertainer by the one & only King of Pop Michael Jackson.

 

Charmaine continuously took that momentum, passion for music & drive through out her life. During her grade school years, she was involved in many different musical groups and participated in talent shows both national and regional taking a place in every one. One group entitled, "Music Express" was a singing & dancing act that toured all over California led by Marc Macisso which had the opportunity of singing with legendary Jazz Saxophone Artist Dave Koz. Later on in May 2005 Charmaine received an opportunity of a lifetime getting the honor to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City. In October 2005 she got into acting by playing the role of Chiffon in the Frank Oz remake, "Little Shop Of Horrors" which went on to compete in the Destasc Acting Competition and made it to the finals.

 

In 2006 Charmaine got accepted into the Recording Artist & Vocal Program at the world famous legendary Musicians Institute, located in the heart of Hollywood, California. While in Hollywood, Charmaine went on to work with Grammy nominated producer Ritchie Zito (Janet Jackson, Cher & Toni Braxton). And worked with well-known session musicians such as Blaire Shotts, (Tone Loc, El Hefe of NOFX, Hollywood Records recording artist Jesse McCartney, and The Zodiac Show with Macy Gray.) And "Paul Blake" Weinstein (Justin Timberlake, Timbaland). And Alicia Morgan a multi talented vocalist/songwriter/keyboardist whose previous work includes performing on the TV. Hit sitcom "Roseanne" and the "Today Show".

 

In Mid 2008 Charmaine received more success & became selected to be the featured artist during the months of October-November in Enfluenz Magazine, a top online Men’s magazine featuring the most sought after up & coming models, recording artists & designers in The Hip Hop World. Later in 2008 Charmaine was voted by radio listeners & debuted on the American Idol Underground Charts for two of her songs, “Mysterious” rounding off the Top 10 R&B songs. &“Caught Up" rounding off the top 20 R&B songs. Charmaine held a place in the Top 10 for several weeks. She also then made The Top 50 Myspace Artists Charts in California for each genre of R&B, Hip Hop & Pop, holding a place in the top 20 & 50 for several weeks as well.

 

At the end of 2009 Charmaine then received the offer to be a part of a Michael Jackson Tribute CD, which featured Up & Coming artists of all genres that were inspired by the late Michael Jackson. Charmaine was set to cover, some of Michael’s songs including” I can’t Help it”, “In the Closet”, “Someone put your hand out” & “Childhood”. This was a tremendous honor for Charmaine, her thoughts on being involved in this project, “Words cannot describe how thrilled, and honored I am. If it wasn’t for Michael, I probably wouldn’t be singing, he’s the one that taught me everything I know in the music industry. He taught me so much, he is my mentor, and I miss him very much & will always.”

 

In 2013 Charmaine made the callback for J.E.L. Music to compose music cues for Television. In early 2015, Charmaine played a party guest in the upcoming Crime, Murder mystery "Kiss Me, Kill Me" starring Gale Harold (Queen as Folk) & Van Hansis (As the world turns)

 

In the future Charmaine's ultimate goal is to make a difference & inspire through her music & to create an empire in Music, fashion, & philanthropic efforts.. Keep your eyes on this multi talented R&B Songstress, who definitely has a bright future ahead of her in the music industry.
